VSS

March 2nd, 2005 No comments

Last Wednesday (23-Feb), my company has announced VSS. They targeted around 10% will take up this offer which equivalent to 3,000 people. I heard the offer is not that good when comparing to year 2002 VSS offer. A colleague that is at 52 said, the package is more lucrative for people in the age of 40-50. For him, it is better to stay rather than leaving.

I can see the management is gearing up to position our company on different platform. This is what our Group CEO’s ambition, to ensure we become the second world-class GLC after Petronas. He emphasised, not only company need to change but the people too. To me, initiatives to change the work culture, the way we do things, how we treat customers, offering highest quality of product and services are among the important ingredients to move ahead.

Our competitors being potrayed as “young” and “vibrant” players, while we are the “old folks”. I believe we still have a bright future. Looking at our vast experience in this industry, with good management, skillful employees and organisational transformation, we shall see the success in years to come, insyaAllah.
